Nominated games for Nordic Game Awards 2009 revealed

On 19 May, Nordic Game will present the third annual Nordic Game Awards.

Highlight of the conference’s Delegate Dinner, the Nordic Game Awards will be hosted by by Swedish tv-host and video game columnist Orvar Säfström.

Orvar will hand out prizes in four categories this year: Best Nordic Game, Best Nordic Children’s Game, Best New Nordic Talent and Best Artistic Achievement.

The following games have been nominated by the game producers’ associations of Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden:

Best Artistic Achievement:
Age of Conan, developed by Funcom (NOR)
Englekræsj, developed by Ravn Studio (NOR)
Guppylife, developed by Guppyworks (DEN)
Mirror’s Edge, developed by EA DICE (SWE)
Penumbra: Black Plague, developed by Frictional (SWE)
Watchmen, developed by Deadline Games (DEN)

On 15 April the NGA jury will meet at the Boomtown Netcafé in central Copenhagen to evaluate the nominees and select the winners. The Nordic Game Awards 2009 jury consists of the following representatives appointed by the Nordic game producers’ associations and Nordic Game Program: Snorre Bryne, Thomas Puha, Steve Dalskog, John Severinson and Thomas Vigild.

The Nordic Game Awards 2009 is organised by Nordic Game Program in cooperation with the following game producers’ associations in the region: Dataspelsbranschen (SWE), Neogames (FIN), Producentforeningen (DEN), and Spillprodusentforeningen (NOR).

The Nordic Game conference and Career Expo will be 19-20 May 2009 at the Malmö Convention Center in Malmö, Sweden (25 minutes by commuter train from Copenhagen airport). Read more and get the latest news and program updates at www.nordicgame.com.
